Data Retention
Hoppla keeps a detailed history of every check it runs -- response times, status codes, certificate details, DNS records, and more -- so you can look back at trends and investigate past incidents. How far back that history reaches depends on your plan.
How Long History Is Kept
Each plan includes a check-history retention window. Older results are automatically removed once they fall outside the window:
| Plan | Check history kept |
|---|---|
| Free | 7 days |
| Hobby | 30 days |
| Starter | 183 days |
| Pro | 365 days |
| Reseller | 730 days |
Higher plans keep more history. If you upgrade, the longer window applies going forward.
INFO
Exact plan names and windows can vary -- always check the plan details on your billing page for the values that apply to your account. Self-hosted instances can have these windows configured by the operator.
Retention applies to detailed check results and related history (such as DNS snapshots). Summary statistics that power your dashboards and uptime badges are aggregated, so high-level uptime figures remain meaningful even for periods beyond the raw-data window.
Deleted Monitors
When you delete a monitor, Hoppla does not immediately erase its history. The monitor is removed from your live dashboard, but its past results are preserved for the rest of the normal retention window. This means your historical reports and incident records stay accurate even after a monitor is gone. Once that window passes, the monitor and its history are permanently purged.
Configuring Retention
Retention is determined by your plan; there is no per-monitor or per-team setting to extend or shorten it. To keep more history, upgrade to a plan with a longer retention window. If you need to keep data indefinitely, use the data export feature to download your results before they age out.
