Status Pages

Status pages show your service health to customers. Powered by your Hoppla monitors, they provide a real-time view of your infrastructure without exposing internal details. Pages can be public, unlisted behind a secret link, or kept private.

Creating a Status Page

  1. Go to Status Pages in the dashboard and click Create Status Page.
  2. Title -- The name displayed at the top of the page (e.g., "Acme Corp Status").
  3. Description -- Optional introductory text shown below the title.
  4. Slug -- The URL path for your page (e.g., acme gives you acme.status.hoppla.dev).
  5. Monitors -- Select which monitors to display on the page.
  6. Save. Your status page is live immediately.

Visibility

Each status page has one of three visibility levels, set from the page's settings in the dashboard:

  • Public -- Anyone with the link can view the page. This is the default.
  • Unlisted -- Only people who have the secret link can view it; everyone else gets a 404. The link includes a ?token= secret, for example https://your-slug.status.hoppla.dev?token=…. Switching a page to unlisted generates this secret token, and switching away from unlisted (or rotating the token) invalidates the old link.
  • Private -- The page is not published at all. It is visible only to you in the dashboard.

Use unlisted pages to share status with a specific audience -- a customer, an internal team -- without listing the page publicly. Use private while you set a page up before going live.

Grouping by Tag

Status pages group monitors by their tags for a cleaner presentation. Each tag becomes its own section heading, with the monitors that carry that tag listed beneath it.

To organize your page, tag your monitors in the dashboard -- for example Website, API, Email, or Internal. Then each tag shows up as a section on the status page:

  • Website -- Your public-facing sites.
  • API -- Backend API endpoints.
  • Email -- Mail delivery infrastructure.

Monitors without a tag appear in a default section. There is no separate group object to manage -- it is driven entirely by the tags you already use.

Incidents

Incidents are displayed automatically on the status page:

  • Automatic incidents -- Uptime, SSL, and certificate-expiry incidents from your monitors appear on the page on their own. (Incidents from other check types -- DNS, cron, agent, performance -- are not shown automatically.) You can turn this off with the show automatic incidents toggle in the page settings if you prefer to curate what's visible.
  • Manual incidents -- Incidents you post yourself always appear, so you can communicate maintenance, partial outages, or anything else in your own words.
  • Active incidents appear at the top with their cause and current duration.
  • The incident timeline shows state changes (created, acknowledged, resolved).
  • Resolved incidents remain visible for a period before being archived.
  • Scheduled maintenance windows are shown as upcoming events.

Visitors can see at a glance whether your services are operational, degraded, or experiencing issues.

Theming

Customize the appearance of your status page to match your brand:

  • Logo -- Upload your company logo.
  • Favicon -- Custom browser tab icon.
  • Primary color -- Accent color used for headers and links.
  • Light and dark mode -- Both are supported. Visitors see the mode matching their system preference.

There is much more you can tune -- email subscribers, RSS/Atom/JSON feeds, a simple, extended or modern view, the uptime history window, and per-monitor display names. See Customization for the full list.

Accessing Your Page

Your status page is available at a hoppla.dev subdomain by default:

https://your-slug.status.hoppla.dev

For a branded experience, you can use your own domain (e.g., status.yourcompany.com). See Custom Domains for setup instructions.
